Custom Homes Built in Northern Virginia
Custom homes built by a team that has spent years finishing homes for other builders and rebuilding them after water damage. Now we are building from the ground up — design-build under one roof, on your lot, in your style.

The Galaxy Advantage
Four reasons Northern Virginia homeowners build with Galaxy instead of a national tract builder or a one-off remodeler.

Restoration-Grade Quality
Our restoration division taught us what fails in NoVA homes. Every Galaxy custom build is engineered against those failures.

Why Choose a Remodeler-Turned-Builder
Most builders only see your home when it is new. We see homes five, ten, twenty-five years later — after the burst pipes, the failed flashing, the settled foundations, and the mold inside the wall cavities. More than 25 years of fixing other builders' shortcuts taught us exactly what to never do.
Galaxy custom homes are engineered against the failures we have spent more than 25 years repairing. Better envelope details. Better drainage. Better mechanical access. Smarter waterproofing. Materials chosen for what they will look like at year twenty, not just year one. No national builder can claim this perspective, because no national builder lives inside Northern Virginia homes the way we do.
Design-Build Under One Roof
A Galaxy custom home is one contract with one accountable team. Our in-house architect, project manager, and trades work together from day one — no finger-pointing, no design-build hand-offs, no surprise change orders blamed on someone else's drawings.
You can adapt one of our starter plans, bring an architect you already love, or design from a blank page with us. Most clients land somewhere in between — a base plan reshaped around how their family actually lives. Either way, you see and approve every room, every elevation, and every line item before we cost the project.
Build on Your Lot or Ours
If you already own land in Fairfax, Loudoun, or Arlington County, we will build on it. Our team handles the soil test, survey, site plan, HOA submission (when applicable), and county permits.
If you do not yet have a lot, we help you find one. We work with regional Realtors and developers who know which parcels in Great Falls, McLean, Vienna, Leesburg, and Ashburn can actually support the home you want — and which ones come with hidden costs (steep slopes, poor drainage, easements, restrictive covenants) that would erode your budget before the foundation goes in.
Transparent Fixed Pricing
After design and feasibility, you receive a detailed line-item budget — every cabinet, every fixture, every finish — locked in writing before construction begins. Upgrades are priced in advance, not negotiated mid-build under pressure.
We do not run cost-plus contracts. We do not pad allowances. We do not surface change orders for things that were obvious from the drawings. The price we sign is the price we deliver, except in the rare case of a homeowner-requested scope change — at which point you see the cost before you approve it.
Architectural Styles We Build
Northern Virginia's housing stock spans Federalist brick in Old Town Alexandria, Craftsman bungalows in Falls Church, mid-century ranches in Vienna, and brand-new modern farmhouses across Loudoun and Fairfax. We build across that full range — but most Galaxy custom homes today fall into four styles: Modern Farmhouse, Transitional Contemporary, Craftsman, and Classical Colonial Revival.
Our architect tailors each style to the lot, the neighborhood's character, and your family's lifestyle. A modern farmhouse on a wooded Loudoun acre looks different from one in a tighter Vienna infill lot — and we know how to design both so the home actually fits where it lives.
Custom Homes Across Northern Virginia
We build custom homes throughout Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Arlington County. We are familiar with the soil conditions on the Piedmont side of Loudoun, the high water table in parts of Falls Church and Arlington, and the increasingly strict tree-save and stormwater ordinances across NoVA jurisdictions.
Local knowledge matters. The home we build for you should anticipate the next storm, the next freeze-thaw cycle, and the next twenty years of Northern Virginia weather — not just the model home aesthetic of a builder headquartered three states away.
Why Choose Galaxy Construction
Where We Build
Custom homes throughout Fairfax, Loudoun, and Arlington counties.
Investment & Financing
Most Galaxy custom home projects run $1.2M to $4M+ all-in, depending on square footage, lot conditions, finish level, and site work. We provide a detailed cost range after the first consultation and a fixed line-item budget after design is complete.
We partner with regional construction lenders who specialize in Northern Virginia custom builds. They release funds in stages tied to verified milestones — foundation, framing, lock-up, drywall, completion. We handle the inspection paperwork and draw requests so you do not have to coordinate the bank and the builder yourself.
Custom Home FAQs
How long does a Galaxy custom home take from contract to keys?
Most Galaxy custom homes take 12-18 months from signed contract to move-in. Design and feasibility typically run 8-12 weeks, pricing and permits add 4-8 weeks, and construction takes 8-14 months depending on size and complexity. You receive a detailed milestone-based schedule before signing, and we update it weekly during construction.
Do I need to own land to build a custom home with Galaxy?
No. We help clients source lots throughout Fairfax, Loudoun, and Arlington counties. We also build on lots you already own. If you are still shopping for land, we will visit candidate parcels with you before you buy and flag any hidden issues — soil conditions, drainage, easements, HOA restrictions, tree-save ordinances — that could erode your budget before construction begins.
What is the typical investment for a Galaxy custom home?
Most Galaxy custom home projects run $1.2M to $4M+ all-in, depending on square footage, finish level, lot conditions, and site work. We provide a detailed cost range after the first consultation and a fixed line-item budget after design is complete. We do not run cost-plus contracts.
Do you offer pre-designed plans or fully custom only?
Both. We have a portfolio of starter plans you can adapt to your lot and lifestyle, or we design from a blank page with our in-house architect. Most clients land somewhere in between — a proven plan reshaped around how their family actually lives. You bring as much or as little design direction as you want.
Who designs the home — Galaxy or an outside architect?
We have an in-house architect on staff, which is one reason we can offer a single design-build contract. You can also bring your own architect if you have already started a design — we work either way and have collaborated with many of the leading residential architects in Northern Virginia.
What is included in the fixed price, and what counts as an upgrade?
Every line item — cabinets, countertops, flooring, fixtures, appliances, lighting — is broken out in your budget before you sign. Upgrades are priced in advance, in writing, so you know what changes will cost before approving them. We do not surface "discovered conditions" surprise change orders for things that were obvious from the drawings.
How do construction loans work with Galaxy?
We partner with regional construction lenders who specialize in Northern Virginia custom builds. They release funds in stages tied to verified construction milestones — foundation, framing, lock-up dry-in, drywall, and completion. We handle the inspection paperwork and draw requests so you do not have to coordinate the bank and the builder yourself.
What warranty comes with a Galaxy custom home?
Every Galaxy custom home includes a 1-year full builder warranty on workmanship and finishes, 2-year warranty on mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), and 10-year structural warranty. We also provide 24/7 client support for the life of the home — the same restoration team that helped Galaxy understand what fails in NoVA houses is on call if anything goes wrong.
Do you build in HOAs and master-planned communities?
Yes. We routinely coordinate Architectural Review Board (ARB) submissions, design reviews, and community-specific covenants. Most Northern Virginia HOAs add 30-60 days to the design phase for review and approval. We handle the submissions and revisions so you only see the work product, not the back-and-forth.
Can Galaxy handle teardowns or major additions instead of new builds?
Yes. Teardown-and-rebuild and whole-home additions use the same team, process, and contract structure as a new build. Many of our custom-home clients start with a teardown because they love their lot and neighborhood but the existing house no longer works. We handle demolition, permits, and the rebuild as one continuous project.
